چکیده

After presenting the multi-channel SAR and the multistatic SAR constellations as the evolutions of present-generation SAR systems, two sets of experiments are proposed to assess their potential applications and validate them, before designing fully operational systems. The experiments from the space are based on the use of the existing SAR together with one or more receiving-only sensors on board of minisatellites. The experiments from the ground are based again on the exploitation of the existing SAR as the radar illuminator and by the use of one or more groundbase receivers appropriately positioned in high elevation location. The proposed experiments are highly recommended for a fast evaluation of the potential applications achievable by both multichannel and multistatic potential evolutions of the modern SAR.

First Spaceborne SAR-GMTI Experimental Results for the Chinese Gaofen-3 Dual-Channel SAR Sensor

In spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors, it is a challenging task to detect ground slow-moving targets against strong clutter background with limited spatial channels and restricted pulse repetition frequency (PRF). In this paper, we evaluate the image-based dual-channel SAR-ground moving target indication (SAR-GMTI) workflow for the Gaofen-3 SAR sensor and analyze the impact of st...

Generation of Digital Terrain Models from Multiple Sar Airborne Surveys over Forested Areas

This paper considers the retrieval of ground elevation in presence of volume scattering, basing on multibaseline airborne SAR data. Once the interferometric phases related to ground-only contributions have been estimated through Algebraic Synthesis technique, the problem is similar to the one of generating a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) basing on multiple repeat-pass spaceborne SAR surveys. No...

Unambiguous Imaging of Static Scenes and Moving Targets with the First Chinese Dual-Channel Spaceborne SAR Sensor

Multichannel synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a breakthrough given the inherent limitation between high-resolution and wide-swath (HRWS) faced with conventional SAR. This paper aims to obtain unambiguous imaging of static scenes and moving targets with the first Chinese dual-channel spaceborne SAR sensor. We propose an integrated imaging scheme with the dual-channel echoes. In the imaging sche...

Detection of Along-track Ground Moving Targets in High Resolution Spaceborne Sar Images

Future high resolution multi-aperture SAR satellites entail high potential for large-area traffic monitoring from space. While many approaches for detecting across-track moving vehicles in SAR images have already been published within the recent years, the detection of objects moving in along-track is still an issue to be solved. This paper deals with the detection of vehicles, mainly moving in...
